That's true, IOAD is recognized on August 31, as shown on the official IOAD website.
However, the Thunder Bay IOAD organizing committee decided to hold its IOAD event on Wednesday, August 26, so that as many people, partners and families as possible can attend. We hope to see you there!
- Where is the 2026 IOAD event happening?
The 2026 IOAD event is happening at Intercity Shopping Centre, in the large parking area on the north side, close to the 'Marshalls' entrance to the mall.
- What time is the IOAD event happening?
The start time is 11am, and the event will end around 2pm.
- Who is this event for?
The event is for anyone who:
- has lost a loved one to overdose;
- is in recovery;
- cares about someone who may have a substance use issue or is in recovery;
- works in health care or social services to help people who use drugs;
- wants to learn more about the supports available for people in City and District of Thunder Bay who have been affected by substance use and overdose.

Use this form to register your interest in having a booth at IOAD. The organizers will reach out to confirm attendance after reviewing submissions.
Please note organizations/partners must provide their own chairs, tables, tents, etc. for the event.
